How To Listen To Music Off An Sd Card

I have a new LG G3 and I want to listen to music that is saved on my SD card. How do you do this?

Your phone should have a built in app for music playback and they usually auto-detect any music on your phone . Keep in mind that there is no “best” app out there – they all have flaws like not having 100% effective bluetooth control or consuming more battery with equalizer.

I’ve tried some of the most popular ones, but returned to default one, because of lack of bluetooth forward/rewind support on most players.

    • Default music app is usually gives you everything most users would need.

    • Winamp boasted a good equalizer, but quite frankly it doesn’t compare to n7.

    • n7 Player is somewhat uniquely designed and has decent equalizer options, but equalizer produces delay between action and playback. Also it seems to somewhat increase battery consumption.

    • double twist player has a lot various expansions and online functionality however, most of those features aren’t free.

    • Poweramp Player I’ve been reminded of this one in the comments. It did not catch my attention, however, at the time I was checking out it WAS one of the highest rated ones.

    • Rocket Player I haven’t tried this one. However seeing as it is free and has decent ratings it might be worth checking out.As for the playback, if you have music on your sd card, open up your music app and the music should be there.

If there is something preventing you from listening to your music please specify it.

Taking Your Itunes Library To Android

    By J. D. Biersdorfer

Q.Is it possible to move or play my iTunes songs on an Android phone? I thought iTunes locked you into an Apple device, but maybe there are ways to do it?

    A. When Apples iTunes Music Store arrived in 2003, it sold songs and albums as digital files in the Advanced Audio Coding format with digital rights management, or D.R.M., restrictions built in to prevent the files from playing on unauthorized hardware. In early 2009, however, Apple announced that it was removing the D.R.M. software from the music it sold in the iTunes Store, which freed up the music files to be played on a wider range of devices.

Songs you converted yourself from compact discs were not affected by iTunes Store restrictions. Several music apps and services for Android support most of the audio file types used by the iTunes software, including D.R.M.-free AAC, MP3 and WMA .

to upload your iTunes library to Googles servers so you can stream the songs on an Android device is a common approach, although the files will be converted to the MP3 format as part of the process. Google notes, however, that some D.R.M.-protected AAC files cannot be uploaded because of the built-in copy restrictions, so iTunes Store songs purchased before 2009 may not work.

How To Convert Itunes Movies/music For Android

The quick start guide below uses M4VGO Windows screenshots. The way to convert iTunes media to fpr Android on Mac is almost the same. Just make sure you get the right version according to your computer’s operating system.

    Add iTunes media

Run DRM Media Converter. Click the “Add file” button to load iTunes movies or music. Also you can just drag and drop your video/audio source to the iTunes to Android Converter.

    Choose output format

For playing iTunes movies on Android, you need to click “Format” and select “Common Video” then choose MP4 as output video format.

For playing iTunes music on Android tablet, smartphone and Android TV, you can choose MP3 as output format. You can get MP3 format under “Common Audio” category.

    Convert iTunes files for Android

When you have finished all the settings, you can click “Convert” to start converting your iTunes movies or music to MP4 or MP3. After conversion is finished, you can click “Open” to locate the converted iTunes media files. After that, connect your Android to computer via USB, transfer the converted files and play the videos and music on Android tablet and smartphone without any troubles!

For Android Smart TV users, please copy the converted files to an USB flash drive, then you can enjoy iTunes movies ans music on Android TV from USB port. Although you can’t download iTunes for Android, you can get iTunes on Android devices with Acrok. Enjoy!

iTunes cant sync your music library to an Android device, and Google doesnt offer an iTunes-style desktop app. However, there are several ways you can easily transfer your music collection to your Android smartphone or tablet.

Googles Music Manager application even integrates with your iTunes music library, automatically copying your music to the cloud so you can stream it from anywhere and easily download it to your Android devices.

Manually Copy Your Music Files From Itunes To Android

Unfortunately, Android doesnt fit well into the Apple ecosystem. While iTunes will sync music files to iOS and iPadOS devices, it wont do the same with Android devices. Youll need to manually copy your music library to Android instead.

RELATED:How to Copy Music to Your Android Phone

There are plenty of methods for doing this, including transferring files over a direct USB connection between your PC and Android, by using cloud storage like Google Drive, or by using a flash drive with a suitable USB OTG adapter.

If youre transferring your iTunes music to Android over a direct USB connection, and assuming your iTunes music is being held in the default iTunes music folder, open Windows File Explorer and head to the C:Users< yourusername> MusiciTunesiTunes Media folder.

Replace < yourusername> with your user account folder. From here, select the folders carrying your music files and then right-click and hit Copy or press Ctrl+C.

View your Android device in Windows File Explorer. Choose a suitable location on your device and then paste your copied iTunes folders to that location by pressing Ctrl+V on your keyboard or right-clicking and selecting the Paste button.

Once copied, use a third-party Android music app to play your music collection on your Android device.

Transfer Itunes Music To Android With A Cable

First, plug your Android phone into your PC. You may need to tell the phone to operate in MTP mode for transferring files. Each device is different, but something should pop up when it is connected to a PC and typically has an option simply names “USB – transfer files”.

Next, open a File Explorer window on your computer and navigate to the music folder on your phone or tablet. In this case the location is: This PC > Chris’ G2 > Internal Storage > Music.

If your phone or tablet has an SD card and you want to put the music there, then you may find it appears as a separate drive under ‘This PC’.

Leave this window open ready to move your music.

Open another File Explorer window and find your iTunes music library. By default this is found in: This PC > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Music.

Upload Your Music To Google Play Music

Google Play Music is Googles music locker-type service like Apples iCloud. Google provides a desktop application known as Google Music Manager that can be installed on Windows, Mac, and even Linux. Google Music Manager scans your computer for music and uploads it to your Play Music account. The application also functions similarly to iTunes Match if it finds songs it knows about on your hard drive, it will automatically match the songs with its own copies in Google Music, saving you bandwidth and time by avoiding uploads. If it finds music it doesnt know about it, it will upload your copies.

In addition to watching folders, Google Music Manager can also watch your iTunes or Windows Media Player library and automatically match and upload your music.

Note that Google Play Music is only available in certain countries. You can have up to 20,000 individual songs in your Play Music account.

To get started, install the application on your computer. Tell it where you store your music either in iTunes, Windows Media Player, or custom folders. It will automatically scan the locations and upload the music to your Google account. The Music Manager application starts automatically in the background and remains running, automatically uploading new music to your account.

Uploaded music is also available at on the web, where you can stream it from anywhere. If you want to download your music, you can use the Download my library button in Google Music Manager.

    But There’s No Voice Control

The one significant absence is voice controls, but that has more to do with iOS than it does Apple Music. On an iPhone, iPad or iPod, you can use Siri to control the music and queue up new songs. It’s one of the better features of Apple Music, because Siri understands when you ask to play more songs like the current track or when you ask to play the number one hit from 1992.

That’s missing from the Android app, because Siri is part of iOS. Unfortunately, you cannot use Google Now’s voice commands to control Apple Music. For example, if I ask Google Now to “play The Rolling Stones” it asks me which app to use, with a list of choices installed on my phone. Apple Music isn’t on that list and if I answer with “Apple Music” Google doesn’t understand the request.

Apple Music for Android asks what music you like to make suggestions.

The Design Is The Same But Slightly Different Than Ios

How to Transfer Music from from iTunes to Android Phones and Tablets

Apple kept much of the same design from the original iOS app, but embraced the typical Android layout too. True to Android design, the app has a left slide-out “hamburger” menu where you can jump to different sections. That menu is where you’ll find the For You, New, Radio, Connect, Playlists and My Music tabs. The hamburger menu keeps things a bit more organized, but it does make it more tedious to switch between tabs.

Beyond the menu layout, the app looks a lot like the iOS version. In fact most pages look nearly identical and suffer from the same overcrowding, with tabs jam-packed with albums, playlists and other suggestions. That was my biggest gripe with the iOS app and it’s still a problem with the Android app.

Apple Music on Android has a streamlined design that’s very similar to the iOS app.

It’s Not Better Than What’s Already Out There

Arriving years after its fellow music streaming apps, Apple Music has a lot to compete with this late to the game. Spotify has dominated streaming music for years and Rdio, Rhapsody and Pandora are popular choices too. Plus, Google just announced a new service, YouTube Red, which lets you listen to music through YouTube using a soon-to-be-released YouTube Music app.

Getting on Android gives Apple Music the best fighting chance to uproot its adversaries, but given its lackluster launch on iOS, I’m skeptical that it will gain many more customers on Android. Especially because Apple Music doesn’t offer much more than Spotify, Google Play Music or others do.

It does have two significant advantages however. First, Apple Music has exclusive music you can’t find elsewhere, like Taylor Swift’s discography and Dr. Dre’s latest album. Second, if you’ve spent years and years purchasing music from iTunes, and have been longing for a simply way to play those tracks on your Android, Apple Music gives you the simplest solution.
