The shows finale is on Disney+ Friday, July 30. The series is a mockumentary musical drama inspired by the High School Musical film series.
The show stars Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Kate Reinders, Matt Cornett and Frankie A. Rodriguez. Lucas Grabeel, an original star of the High School Musical movies, also appears.
East High School students Nini and Ricky are the center of the series. They are an on-again-off-again couple who land lead roles in the schools fall musical. Season 2 brought on new roles for the students and, for a period of time, a new school for Nini.

Sources told THR that Campbell is in preliminary talks with NBCUniversal for a leadership role at its year-old streamer, Peacock. While a deal is far from done, Campbell would be replacing Gidon Katz, NBCUniversals former direct-to-consumer president, who had been with Peacock since its start and previously helped launch Now TV, the tech used for Peacock. Sources note that NBCUniversal Television and Streaming chairman Mark Lazarus is mulling minor changes to his group following Katzs departure.
Should the hire go through, Campbell would be joining NBCUniversal at a time when Disney is preparing to buy out Comcasts minority stake in Hulu for upwards of $13 billion in the next few years. Under Campbells leadership, Hulu has grown to become the driver of revenue in Disneys streaming portfolio, despite having fewer subscribers than Disney+.
Campbell joined Hulu in 2017 after a 12-year career at Google. In early 2020, Campbell was elevated to president of the streaming company as it was integrated into Disneys larger DTC group. In a separate , Campbell alluded to another opportunity that she would announce soon.
